carlosg_313 Posted June 24, 2011 Report Share Posted June 24, 2011 maybe depends on the insurance. but here's a thought, when i got my first wreck, i wasnt on my father's insurance. i had a license, but wasnt in the insurance. after talking to the family car insurance guy (farmers insurance group), he told my mother that i got to be in the insurance, if not, when i get in another wreck, i will not be covered. but when i got the be in the insurance policy, guess what?? premium went up a little bit since the accident. Edit: should have said it depends on the policy, you can get ones where aslong as the person has a full licence and have your permission they are covered in your car. But I did talk to him back when I first got insurance and told him that I drive other peoples' cars often because of the custom work I do. So maybe he changed something for my policy. I know that when I got my DUI, I was driving my buddy's car and all of it went on my insurance. Well he had a company car so he NEVER used his personal truck. It had expired registration and no insurance on the truck. On the way home I got pulled over for the registration, then they found out about the truck not having insurance. I had insurance but he did not. I ended up getting a ticket and having my license suspended for 9 months because his truck did not have insurance. Its strange how shit works.
