Ok guys. If you're interested in any of the amps, here's the link: Audison LRx amps

Also here's a link to the alarm I have that is up for sale. This is a complete package for sure for a civic 06-08 with the bypasses etc. Obviously the alarm isn't vehicle specific.

Hoping these sell soon so I can pay off the cards. Should get me a little extra cash too. That would be nice!

Ok here's what's currently going on. I just sent payment for the amps today and hope they'll be here by friday so I can drool over em all weekend.

Then, next week I'll be building two test boxes. One ported enclosure tuned to, off the top of my head, I think 38 htz, then the second is going to be a 4th order with the sealed being at .75cu and the ported at 1.5cu tuned to between 38 - 40 hz. Thanks Merzbow for the advise.

The set up will be this, HDP4 for front tweeters and mid range, second HDP bridged for the front mid bass. HDP 5 bridging the front and rear channels for 200 watts x 2 for the rear fill. Then the sub will see 550 watts of the 5th channel at 2 ohms.

Here's the layout: Scratch that, I'll do a sketch up of the layout. It'll be more fun that way! LMAO!

Plans for next week. Monday, I'll be building the test boxes. Hopefully I can get them both built on Monday. If that's the case, then I'll be ready for testing. Then I have the following on the list:

1) Finish/work on - tablet install

2) Start on the front stage A-pillars (mid range and tweeters)

3) Rebuild the component rack out of birch and clean it up a bit.

Not sure how much more I'll be able to do, but I'll figure it out as I go.

That's it for now. I'll update more later.

Ok here's the new rear deck amp drawer layout.

1) Amps facing front to back of the car, with the bit one in the center. This angle is as if you were standing at the trunk with the drawer extended out.

This is a shot of the back for the drawer. The black boxes are representing fans.

This angle is with the amps laying side to side, like the bit one. I prefer this layout I think. It looks much more balanced. What do you guys think?

Same thing, rear view.

I've decided that the HDP5 will go in the trunk lid, as planned with the previous design.

There are some other design changes as well. I'm thinking I'm going to move the battery from the rear cubby to the side of the sub enclosure. The enclosure should not take up the entire area back there. I'll do the battery on the bottom of course, and then above it will go the fuse holders, and the complete distro block.

As you can see, or imagine, this is going to free up a lot of space for me. I am seriously thinking of putting bags on this car. Doing this will allow me to do that. It will free up space for all that. I'll utilize the cubbies, and the floor as well, if needed. For now, I'm on audio only. Not worrying about the bags or air as of now. But I'm trying to think of the future, and all the while still have a trunk!

That's it for now. Amps have shipped, and one of 5 have sold. Things are moving along quite nicely. I may have some power stuff up for sale soon as well. But that may not happen until I'm done with the build and see what I have left.

More to come, like actual building, very very soon! Let me know what you all think!

I'll probably put the fans on a switch, but I'm not sure if I need to or not. I mean they should be blowing air all time right? I'm also pondering a tie in to the hvac system. A small hose design that will feed cool air in the summer. How will I make that work, I'm still thinking about that one.

As far as tuning and wiring, are you talking about the amps?

No running the amps cold is as bad as running them hot you have to reach a medium and unless absolutely necessary you don't wanna run fans for no reason I think those audison amps have built in fans I would test to see how hot they get before I add the fans or put them on a switch and when you feel like its getting hot cut the fans on. Since you are a genius I will give you the task of creating a thermo system that activates when the cabinet reaches a certain temp and of that's too hard for you then just create a monitoring system in the cabinet that you could read from the dash so you know when you need to switch them on. Just a thought. I am referring to the wiring and tuning of the amps how hard will it be able to do it while the amps are in the cabinet I didn't think about that before I mounted my amps and now accessing knobs and wiring is a bish you look like a man of convenience so I figure you have thought about this as well

I see what you're saying now. I hadn't thought about that. Well right now it's about 30 - 34 degress here in Sac in the mornings and in the summer it gets to be anywhere between 95 - 110 on a regular basis in the summer. So I guess heating and cooling would be good things. I could use some 1/2 or 3/4" tubing, and tap into my dash vents or ducting for the summers and then I could do the same for the winters with the foot vents. I pretty much only run the defroster in the summer on foot and windshield, never blowing on me, and just to warm up the cabin so it never runs "hot" all the time. Then in the summer I have the A/C on most of the time, and same thing, never "ice cold" for long periods of time. Mainly to cool the cabin down after sitting all day.

I have some thoughts on how to do this, and I'll of course have to figure out how to do that. It'd be nice to figure out how to be able to regulate the fans so I can turn them up if needed or down as needed. Like a turning knob, kind of. I'll have to do some research, but if anyone has any insight on this that would help.

So I'll draw up a little something that I'm thinking about doing. It will make more sense that way!

As far as tuning, the Audison amps, as well as the HDP amps have their knobs all on top. So tuning isn't a problem.

Thanks for the input, it's always appreciated, and helps too.

I didn't know it was bad to run cold amps? And how cold are we talking about..

Those amps won't normally show, right? Anyway, i agree with the second layout being more balanced and clean.

As far as regulating fans, I got to thinking about fan controllers for computers. They could also be used to dim lights.

I got a fairly high quality one in my computer and iirc it can handle 15-20W on each of the four channels.

Yeah you never want an amp to always run cool they all have operating conditions both cold and hot veering off of that can cause problems. One issue that arose for me last year was with an absolute amp in my gf car it has what looks like a stainless steel body and one week it was really cold and it randomly got hot plus she drives a hatchback and had the heat running needless to say the amp went from cold to hot to quick and condensated a bit so it went into protect then wouldn't cut on that's when I read up on amps and temps and learned quite a bit wish I could find that link but back to the point amps should never be too cool and of course never too hot have to find a middle ground but just check the amps specs should give you operating temps

Wow! Ive not been able to get on all day long. Something about the site being offline and no cache or something like that. Crazy! Here and there it works but more there than here. Lol

These amps say between 33 and ?? Damn it i cant remember. I may get temp gauges for them and then see where i need to go from there. My guess is the mid bass and sub amp would need the most help.

Ill figure it out at somepoint.
