Supercharged DCs
45HZ????????? dont you think thats a lil bit high?? why not tune it lower...like 32,34,36hz?? I heard thats what I needed to build it at if i was going for spl I mean no disrespect when I say this, but it sounds like you made a dumb purchase. Not because the amplifier is good, but because you don't know what you will do with it. It seems you are generally inexperienced, and have no idea what your getting into with that kind of power. Just a side question for y'all, does the amp do rated? Quote Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012. gally
i think it should be rated...since its the maxximus series.. bumonskateboard6
The amp will do rated in a perfect environment...However you must only be going for burps and not music if your box is tuned that high. Run it on 12v batteries, get an alternator, and plan to buy new subs or cones because I don't think those 3518s will like 5000 each very much Quote Current Systems: 2011 BMW 335i Hertz HDP1 DC LVL3 12" Full Carbon Fiber 2002 Acura TlKenwood DNX9980HD2 DCLVL4 12" Subs with LVL5 Parts D.7 CoilsDC 3.5kHertz HSK-165 up front HCX-165 RearHertz HDP4 AmpDC Power Engineering 260 Amp AltBig 3 and amp powered with KNU 1/0XS Power D2400 Up Front i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch... going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box... EVAlonSo
Funny thing about getting an amp that is way higher than what your subs can take is that its called headroom... BJD3
Are you guys fucking stupid? Leave the guy alone and learn to read... First he said he was going for numbers... Second, 45hz is NOT strictly SPL... NOT EVEN CLOSE... One note wonders are usually in the upper Hz range, from 60-80hz... He's asking questions. He already has the amp, get over it... Funny thing about getting an amp that is way higher than what your subs can take is that its called headroom... OP, go on with your bad self... Dezzy FN Baybee
Wish I could have stayed to chat but I had to go to work. otherwise i have no money to dump into this. I'm not a complete noob nor do I have 20+ years of experience. I'm going on 21 in about a month I started competing in 2008. I do my research and I just try to learn as much as I can because I love the sport. I'm not the type of guy to pay someone to do everything for me I do my own installs and take pride in my work. My first competition I did 139.9 in MECA's M4 class, last month same class I did 143.4. My highest official score at a show is 147.3 @ 57hz legal. I had the 2 3518s in the same box mentioned with 2 Power Acoustik OV1-5500D amps strapped. Now I've upgraded to the XX Maxximus, which brings me to this topic.
