were you going to build this yourself or have a shop do it?

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

i was building up the inside walls of the van to support the weight of all the subs, but am having a shop make the boxes and wire it all up

Optimus XL-400w amp 2x 10s IMPP 400w 2x something or other in dash 2x 35w radioshack 8" full-range AcDelco factory radio "frankenstein'd from my dead buick" Dodge seats 1984 Chevy G30 full size 1-ton van "Rust Monster" Progress - around 15% primer/patching

Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. Bought a 2000 Chevy S10, still using the same amp/subs. Headunit is XO Vision X538. It's 52x4w, has a dvd player, auto flip out 7" touch screen plus alot more and is a single din.

Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that :( any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van.

LOL

under construction

I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me.

ok, ya, install for a shop to do a build like this will probably take up almost all of your budget. get two 18"s and about 3k on each. itll move enough air to do a hair trick, or it should. learn how to build your own boxes to save a few grand.

Im gonna try to stop you now before someone comes in here and rips you apart lol. a 150 takes a lot, and if you are talking about brands like boss and having a shop build your boxes you will probably never come close. If i were you i would look at some of the huge builds on here and get a better idea of what you are going into first. Then look at brands like t3, sundown, dc, ascedant audio, and send some emails about prices. im going to pm you.

since the budget is low i wont be takig it to Spl for a WHILE...

was really hoping to just grab up a ton of 10 or 12s, i listen to a bit of rap, dubstep etc, but mostly metal with the fast drums and ive heard that the 18s cant handle the reflex times for that

"im probably wrong though"

the same guy estimated $400 total for the 2 boxes i wanted "6x 12s in each"

If you want something nice and lower on cost look into some dc level 3's you could get several of those and run with that which would get plenty loud for you im sure. And btw there are several loud people in PA like n8 lol
