trulywickedcustoms
Im helping a friend if mine do a temporary build in his 2008 dodge mega cab dually.. He has 4 15" solo L7's laying aroun the he wants to use... He also will be powering them with his AB 500.1 (most likely turned down a tad lol) but anyways he's got like right at 6 cubes after bracing and sub displacement It is a truck box style wedge and the big question is should he try to do 2- 15" ported towards the roof (firing up) or do all 4 in a sealed common chamber?? Keep in mind this is a mega cab it has a lot of cabin space to pressurize.. Thanks guys! I just worked off midnights so I'm gna sleep for a bit and then he said he's comin over at like 12 or 1 and wer going to cut out the baffle and finish it so all opinions welcome lol Quote *2013 NEW BUILD* 12- 18" Crossfire XS v2's B pillar 4th order wall 4- Crossfire 8K mono blocks 40+ pro audio mids tweeters and horns 3- Singer alternator 400a external regulated alts tons of audiotechnix wire 24- XS Power D1400's -TEAM XS POWER- -TEAM CROSSFIRE- -TDH-

DRauck
Use all 4 and go sealed. You'll be able to run the amp at full power with no problems then, and hopefully you'll pull a LITTLE SQ out of those L7s Quote 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen 12" Kicker SoloX Subwoofer Rockford Fosgate t20001bd Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Head Unit Build Log

mazdaspl
I would have to agree on going sealed bro.. I think the subs will match better with his highs.. Jay

I was thinking this, but kicker recommends 1.5 sealed per woofer at the least, and his amp could push all four just fine. This is the only reason I suggested 4. I guess OP you should try a few different things and see what works best Quote 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen 12" Kicker SoloX Subwoofer Rockford Fosgate t20001bd Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Head Unit Build Log
neuspeedescort
screw what kicker recommends. like almost every other manufacture they list specs that will safely power run stuff. when a sub is installed and powered correctly its not going to make a difference the box size. if you go sealed its going to be nice. ported will be louder. just port tune correctly and it will be just as nice as ported but actually hit lows. NEUMAN Except that in too big or too little of a box, you can choke the sub and cause damage. Your statement is contradictory because the box size has a lot to do with whether or not the sub is installed and powered correctly.
