69 chevelle system build BASS VIDEO PAGE 8

Recommended Posts

well, its been a sickening day for me LOL. started out good, got my weekend started early and stayed home from work, got the TL which was all good, then started testing and it turned sour. my box is tuned to 34hz, and for some reason my system is peaking at 31hz, which really kills me trying to termlab it. just ran some tones through it and the best i could muster was 140.8 @ 31hz sealed on the dash, #$%#$%@#$R&*#$%@!@#!!!!!! anyway, ill go back through and find the winner :)

Hey man great build and badass car.

Just a little tip for you if you dont know this already. Your box may be tuned to 34hz but it doesnt neccessarily mean you are going to peak at 34hz in the car. The acoustics of the interior of the car will be different to the box. 31hz is not a bad tone to be at. Like another has said the solid rear deck panal is whats killing your scores. But they are mirely scores those can always be improved. Could always do a different box lol.

But all in all man the build, the car, the numbers, its all amazing.

haha, i just made the initial cuts with the skill saw. my table saw isnt meant to take 4x8 sheets, so once i get them cut down i put them onto the table saw and go from there.

positive. ive went over the numbers 3 times and had two other builders look them over as well, everyone comes to the conclusion its right. the box is right at 5cubes after displacements with what is essentially (2) 6x6 ports, each being ~26 long. comes out right about 34hz. part of the score being low is the windows arent trimmed around the top, they just seal to the upper door rubber seal along the headliner. doesnt make any sense to me, it sounds, and definitely feels much louder than what it scores

edit: this past sunday i put an old battery i had in the box to try and raise the tuning by lowering volume. the battery was right at .5 cubes, and the peak still didnt move from 31, so i guess it just is what it is unless i want to rip it all out and start over
