Power for my system

I want to upgrade my systems powere supply and just wanted some advice. I drive a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and I am running a Power Acoustik BAMF 5500watt peak/3200rms for the bass, and a Power Acoustik BAMF 1600watt peak/800 rms for the highs. Right now i have a optima gell cell battery and a Vmax charge tank 800 battery with a DB electrical 250 amp high output alternator. it is just not near enough power for the system because i just changed to the new amps i talked about above. I also have a Soundstream capacitor in my system and i was wondering if i should get rid of it cause i have heard lots of rumors that they can hurt your alternator. I was going to order a Mechman 270 amp alternator with the adjustable voltage module and a XS power D3100 just so i wouldnt have to worry about not having enough power anymore but as you guys probably know, that shit is pretty expensive. I am only 17 and dont have a job and my dad pays for my system cause its our hobby. i just wanted to see what you guys would suggest so i could maybe find a better deal or just see what i should do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest selling those amps and getting ones that put out real power. That "3200 rms" amp most likely puts out 2000 rms. Get rid of the cap tho for sure. But in all honesty. The alt you have right now should supply the current you're drawing.

you should be good with the mechman 270 and voltage module and xs power batt and get rid of the cap. you can also check out kinetik or shuriken for cheaper batteries than xs power. also have you done your big 3? that would probably help your voltage a lot. another thing you should probably upgrade in the future is the power acoustik equipment. its not the best made equipment and definitely doesnt put out anywhere near rms power.

Sounds like your alt should he able to handle your system, but as said above the big 3 would help and another batt.

IMO sell those PA amps and take the money you would have spent on a new alt and get better amps.

yea i am aware that power acoustik definatly is not the best amps, i wanted rockford fosgate but you guys know that doesnt come cheap, but you gotta pay the price for good equipment so you guys have a good point. I just got a good price thats why i got a 5500 cause i know it doesnt put out what it says so even if it only puts out half of what it says it will still be enough, im only running 2 FI SSD 12's rated for 800 rms a piece so it should make enough power for them. I have the big 3 upgrade already. Thank you guys for your help, i appreciate it very much. Now i know for sure the cap needs to go. If you have any other suggestions that would be great, im not in a rush cause i want to do it all the right way the first time to save money and not ended making crap like what i have now. thanks!
