But for real, I will bash and continue to stay away from Sony. They are not a performance oriented company, they're out to make a "good enough for most of us" product that they can rely on their name to sell it for them, and sell en masse. Most of us are not here because we like "good enough". Companies like DC, DD, AQ and any other two letter brand are building and selling gear that has true ingenuity towards higher SPL and SQ (yes i did say SQ) and companies like JL Audio are just interested in making up cute names for their technologies so they can sell equipment, not be louder. JL quit caring about being louder a long time ago.

I'm just broke as hell and can't afford any of this, so my thoughts should be taken with a grain of salt.

go with an aq750 and keep the gain about 1/4 and u should be good

?? do you know anything about audioque products? if you looked on the site the 750 outputs 300w at 4 ohms, which is perfect since its rated for that and the sub has a single 4 ohm voice coil. gain at 1/4 means absolutely nothing. plus, aq amps have a clipping light so you dont even need a multimeter or an oscilloscope to tune them since the red clip light on the bass knob will tell you that you've turned the gain up enough.

For one I have not bashed a single product in this post and two, like Derrick said, it was to say that just because someone uses a lower end brand doesn't mean they can get loud.

dont call me a jackass, first off. secondly, i understand your point of getting loud with sony products, and thats just fine and dandy, more power to them. i never said that low end brands cant get loud, hell im one of the few people in this thread that actually helped him with his problem. when i get mad (i have anger problems, as you slightly see) i tend to not re-read what i typed out and i instantly hit Reply.

i was just about to mention that...kind of misleading could have ultimately resulted in the death of an Xplod...although i dont know how but my Xplods have been Clipped to hell and back but they're still gettin dowwnnnnnnnnnn. Peace.

What i find quite funny is that one of the loudest bassracers in the WORLD ran Sony subs in his vehicle along with Sony amps and I am willing to be that NONE of you are louder than he is. Just amazes me how people bash a product when in fact they have NO CLUE wtf makes the product suck or why its trash for that matter!

And it got quiet in here QUICK!!---hey man this is my other account, I am not going to "over power" the sub, i am going to turn the gains and everything down, that way i can get the full 300 rms without any distortion, a smaller amp that won't put out the full 300 rms means i will have to turn the amp up higher witch will cause a distorted signal and burn up my sub

I was just saying, don't over power it. If it's got an RMS of 300, and a peak of 1100, don't run an ass ton of power to it! Not talking trash, just throwing in my 2 cents.

Just to be fair, I never really bashed sony to begin with, maybe in my later posts. It was his sub specifically: I have seen what his sub can do personally, and it isn't much. ANYWAY...

OP, just to get this thread back on track, Run decent power if you expect any real life out of that sub. And make sure your electrical is up to par. There's lots of threads you can read that everyone doesn't go out on tangents because of one little comment one dork said. The one's you should read are the sticky threads on each subject.
