And here we go. Another effin' problem.

Test fit the Rainbows in the doors and turns out they are a tad bigger than the Nertz were. So the surround is touching the edge of the cutout. Not by a lot, but they touch. The only way to fix it is to strip the vinyl, make the hole bigger, and re-wrap the panels. Will them touching be a problem?

damn your having a hell of a time with your front stage lol.

i dont think that will be a problem man. as long as its not pushing so much to make the coil rub. it looks like where its touching isnt a part of the surround that will actually move so wear will be minimal.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Yeah dude, tell me about it. Its hardly touching. I'll do it right eventually, but this should work for now, right?

i dont think you ever have to redo that pod for this speaker. i really dont think it will be a problem. but check it every week or so and see if you can see any signs of wear. if the surround looks good, its all good.

Maybe you could simply make a spacer ring out of 1/4 to push the mid back a little so your surround won't hit your pod. Less of a hassle than tearing the pod apart.
