AUDIOTISTICS
I used to use kicker about 4 years ago before they stitched the voice coil wire to the spider. I had about 26 subs come back that year. Each sub was about a month later because one wire would come off the cone or speaker terminals. I spent so much money on shipping labor and warranty issues taking care of my customers I will never sell kicker again! At least somebody takes care of their customers! (kicker) another reason I dislike kicker because the subs require so much airspace to perform correctly. The box specs they recommend are tuned high and sound poingy!. Big long ports that take alot of displacement 2.35 cubic feet gross for a single 12" ported while every one else is around 1.75 gross. I havent seen a prefab box on the smd forum lately. Its fine for the penny saver shops that use prefab boxes. Oh and holy crap what a noisy sub! Talk about the biggest whored out product online KICKER! Especially in downtown L.A. You can walk into a donutshop or a liquor store and pick up a couple subs and an amp with no warrnty so i'm going to stop here! teddyspl42
im kinda new to systems and stuff like that but i run 2 15" CVRs off my power acoustik BAMF 5500 (i am aware its not a great amp) and they sound good. i mean im not trying to say that my system is better than anyones because its probably not, i'll admit that, but for the price i paid for all of it i think it was a pretty good deal. yes they dont have the best sound quality but i beat mine all day and they have never given me any problems. if you dont have a lot of money to spend on it like me, then i would probably suggest them but if you can afford to get some better you probably should lol Car: 1995 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport 4.0L (2wd) Headunit: Pioneer AVH-P5000dvd Front Doors: blown stock Rear Doors: blown stock High amp: none (for now) Subs: 12" Kicker L7 D4 Sub amp: JL Audio 500/1v2 Wiring: Stinger Pro Speaker wire: Stinger 12g
MarioB
PRODUCT A VS PRODUCT B means shit on performance its on how its built in the car and used. U Can have subs ranked at 5000 watt max vs 2000 watt max and the 5000 watt would get shitted on if the build wasnt right. So yea most of the sound quality depends on BUILD and not sub. Yes sub matters but so does the build! I like this post. 12- DC Audio m2Lvl3 12's1- Hertz HSK3 way2- DC5K's2- ZX350.42- Stinger SP1500D batteries in rear3- runs of 1/0ga. to the rearTeam DC Audiodcsoundlab.com Quality is all in how you take pictures I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person crazy to fit so many in so little. lapaynem4
I bought 2 Kicker 10's a few months ago after being out of the "loop" for about ten years. They're for sale now, wanna buy em? I too have been out of the loop for 8-9 years. The last brand of subs I used were kicker and thats the biggest reason I bought kicker again. I have been pleased with it so far but I will probably go with a different brand on my next build. AA98hoe
When I worked at my local shop I use to run 4 15 cvrs and got them for like 120 a piece well I blew them once and was able to get free replacements. I thought it was a good warranty. I came to find out that the owner got them so cheap he could afford to swap them out once and not lose any money.everyone sells kicker now because its all about money. If you could get a decent known name product for next to nothing and charge a high price for that product why not. They would be nice to have if we all could get dealer prices on them but we don't so its not worth it TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. miniSPLlancer
I've run kicker L7 12 with a kicker zx750 and for a basic setup in a trunk I hit a 137.0 but to be honest, the sound IS extremely muddy, but it did get down, I think people believe when companies start becoming mainstream and going into stores like best buy, Frys electronics, audio express, ect... Then they are considered selling out, so, like everything else, to each their own 2011 Mitsubishi OutlanderSony 712 Soundqubed HDS208 Alpine MRV-M500 Transmission line enclosure Soundqubed wiring Knu rca XS Power battery CNF terminals
TeamHT
Product that costs $10 to make on assembly line sold at a 3,000% mark up, sound recreation, and other reasons can be overlooked... My main issue with Kicker isn't Kicker; its with the majority of people who run Kicker Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
