Bending 1/8in metal

I think the metal is steel, but what I am getting at is bending part of the stock alt bracket so my HO one will fit. I think it only needs to be bent a little. Was wondering if there is a way to do this with it still under the hood. I don't have access to a torch to heat the metal. Is there a proper way to do this or should I hit the f**k out of it for a little?( given I don't want to break anything)

I'm on mobile so no pics right now. Cant sand or grind for clearance. It's not stainless or higher chrome alloy. It's just painted steel, I just need to bend like from say factory being at a 90 (vertical) a little piece of it at a 45 that is about 2 in long. It is the third arm to the stock alt(two sides like norm, then the metal I'm talking about to another bolt spot on the lower back of the stock alt)

Piece is about 1.5in wide too. Could I bend it with a wrench? Only reason I'm asking is because I don't want to take the alt off again if I don't know a probable way to bend it.(get some ideas then take a wack at it).

Is there a way you can take only the bracket off and leave the alt on?

my engine is the 5.7 vortec. I dont even have that bracket on it. of course its on the other side too. Id shave it down til it fit. the reason its there is to keep it from torquing when you hard shift and things like that.
