onebadmonte Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Just throwing this out there, but for the space you've got you can do 4 Fi X 10s sealed and rock the house. I know ported is louder, but I don't think you have enough space to get the required volume and port length to achieve your goals. I've heard 4 Fi X 10s of an Orion XTR 1500 in a Magnum, and it was an eye opener. Good luck with the project. Warhorse vs A Pair of SMDeez build Olds Cutlass Cierra IB build 2 Fi IB3 18s
brent379 Posted September 21, 2011 Author Report Posted September 21, 2011 Think it would be possible to do one 12???? With the rough estimate of space i got lol. Would a twelve do better then two eights??
^_^ Gem132 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 i would do the 2 sa 8's, skar vvx 8's, pretty much just 2 8's cos how often do you see 8" subs that can bang ? i know if i heard a system thinking there was 12's or a 15 etc and than found out it was 2 8's i would be shocked. brent379 Posted September 22, 2011 Author Report Posted September 22, 2011 Will the sa 8"s really hit that hard?? Almost sounds like they would beat my fi x twelves lol
kam311 Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 They will hit harder than your twelves in the given airspace! so far... Almost sounds like they would beat my fi x twelves lol They will hit harder than your twelves in the given airspace! ^^^ This. It's all dependent on install and power on tap. If you're chasing numbers and I'd say SA8. I've read about them scratching 150 on the TL. It you're looking for a more musical setup I'd say 4 Fi X 10s sealed in 2.25 cuft would give you a flatter, and louder response than a pair of ported SA8s off of 1500 watts. MaliBOOM Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Or be a badass and do as many Skar VVX-8s as you can www.TheAutoSkin.com MaliBOOM v2"2010 Bagged Malibu on 20s"<< click here<<< Excursion on 42s Build log<<Click here<<< Instagram-@theAutoSkinRyan @TheAutoSkin Owner of The Auto Skin
brent379 Posted September 22, 2011 Author Report Posted September 22, 2011 Four tens is,alot of many and all four in that small box just doesnt seem right lol. I kinda like the sa8"s idea. I watched vids on youtube and it lokks insane how hard they can hit. And if they can beat my twelves im sold. With my twelves u could hear me about a half mile away. They were pretty loud. I just hope they will hit the lows!!! Right now i got the old style mtx ta81001... Think i should get a better amp??
onebadmonte Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 The amp will be more than enough for which ever route you take. Remember you're only dealing with 2" voice coils so they'll only be able to take so much before they over heat and burn. If you do go with the Sundowns I'd wait a bit till they come out with the SA-8v2. You'll either get the better speaker or a great deal on the SA-8v1 as they close them out. Good luck and keep us posted on your project. Warhorse vs A Pair of SMDeez build Olds Cutlass Cierra IB build 2 Fi IB3 18s
