HPF makes my woofer very quiet

There in lies your problem. HPF will HPF all deck outputs(I believe). Therefore, when it is turned on, then it will affect your sub amp.

Unless the set of RCAs you use is for Sub only.

let say that he HAS 2 sets of preouts...one set for the front and one set for the rear speakers

so the thing is...why not sacrificing the rear speakers for the sub(you surely wont need rear speakers)?

in that case the HPF wont affect the sub

but it will affect the sub because its still a TRUE rear channel so the headunit WILL apply hpf settings to it NO MATTER WHAT...... ive been here done that on alot of h/u and there is no way around it..... either turn your hpf off or dont run a sub..... lol my 2 cents

realy?

so how am i playin my sub perfectly with the 2 sets of preouts on my alpine??

oh you should have 2 sets...at least

once again...what radio are you using??

jvc krd 620

Yes only one set of rcas going to my sub

you mean Jvc KD R620?

totally.

THEN.....CHECK these

it doesnt have a sub pre out...

but you can sacrifice your rear speakers for the sub....and the HPF wont affect the subs

it worked for me

++++it has 2 SETS of preouts

ill gladly sacrifice my rears for my sub. so just use the other set of preouts? finally something worth trying.

dont read! TRY it!

Make sure your sub is connected to the rear channels and turn on the sub output, that should let you now control the sub volume. If you mistakenly connected the subs to the fronts you aren't getting any signal to them.

It's not that. You just didnt convey your idea properly IMO. "you can sacrifice your rears for the subs" isn't the same as switching your preout mode from rear to sub.

maybe because its an alpine deck.... never owned alpine decks..... always tried it on shitty decks lol that could be the problem why i couldnt do it......

ps i dont like running subs on a sub/rear switchable deck....... sounds way different imo.....

Exactly. After looking at his deck specs, he can do this, which is what I was getting at and actually got at a few times. If his deck didn't have switchable RCAs, then HPF would still cause his problem.

I hope this is directed at me...
