beaker
Here's my rig, its dusty as hell, but whatever. Its a budget build, I think total cost was around 500 i7 920 overclocked to 3.7 ghz 12 gigs Corsair XMS3 1600 2 10,000 RPM raptor drives in RAID 0 EVGA GTX 470 1.25 320 bit overclocked to 700/1400/1700 Coolermaster Silentpro 600 Watt Modular PSU Looks good Steve, you should check newegg on the memory, they frequently have it on sale on shell shocker, I just got 16 gig for my sons computer for 67$ shipped. Triple channel is a little faster, but I dont know if you'd even notice the difference, it might boot in 3 seconds instead of 4. If you're running windows 7 make sure that the auto defrag is turned off, SSD's dont need it and it will shorten the life of the drive. You have a $250 dollar CPU, that and those raptors alone put you over $500. Im confused. onebadmonte
Nice computer. I'm glad to hear the SSD worked out great. I'm thinking about putting one in my laptop. Right now I make a cup of joe when I start up my laptop and wait for windows to boot. I'm not a big gamer. Not that I don't like them. It's just every time I get into one, I lose track of everything and don't come back to reality till the wife starts threatening divorce. Any ways, enjoy the new computer. audiofanaticz
Looks great Steve!! I see you took the extra time to use the Cable Management holes!!! Now if all the people that keep posting pics of their rigs would use some cable management the internet would be a little bit better off! optical
looks good im just not a fan of your watercooled system i prefer a custom loop over a drop in all in 1 unit but it doesnt really matter for most people i just like to get all the performance i can lets see yours, post up your own thread and i will decide if i am a fan of what yours looks like . Im sure i could find some way to shit on it. I didnt figure i would get away with posting this without someone nit-picking it in some way. There is always someone with something better, we all know this......and there is always someone who has seen something better and dont mind telling you. i wasnt hating its a damn fine machine maybe i should have gave more details, on my first machine i built i had a all in 1 watercooling soultion similar to that and it failed and the replacement one failed on me within 2 months maybe i just got a bad couple. heres a pic of my comp nothing special but it gets my quad to 4.4ghrz @ decent voltage so im happy. i do wish i could afford the vcards you got srry pics are blurry just a phone pic Edited September 29, 2011 by optical

I got the CPU, motherboard and half the ram off CL from a guy who needed cash and was parting it out for 250 The raptors I got from work (free) The 470 I got last year on black friday for 175 shipped The other 3 sticks of ram I got on a deal for 60$ PSU was about 90 Heatsink was 45, but the fan on it is from a dell and moves a LOT of air. Then theres the cd rom and card reader and such. I'm a bit of a nerd, I also have a dell 22u rack with a few game servers and a file server. I also use it to test new stuff I have to do at work.
