4 15" Btl Build

just out of curiosity...what size ports would you guys come up with? with dimensions of 42x41.5x19.5. 3/4" wood. after displacement it's almost exactly on 16 cubes. probably just a tad lower with the bracing.

probably around 100more square inches..lol...but i mean, if you dont like how it sounds then it shouldnt be that hard just to cut the port out and make it bigger...

it's an 01 sport. just a 2 door. i woulda loved a bigger one. a trailblazer or 4 door explorer. but when i bought it a couple years back, it's what i could afford. but i'm still happy.

the dimensions of the box are 41.5" wide x 42" deep x 19.5" high. very snug between the wheel wells, a little room from the box to the seats. gonna be a tight fit for the amps. and my back seats are taken out. pfff they're over rated anyway

I'm glad I went back and read this first, cause I was about to ask how were you going to get that box in there without taking the back seats out!!!

Nice, very nice!! I'm thinking about taking my back seats out of my Explo-Sport and adding 2 more 18s! Maybe one day, who knows!

No need to be nervous...Hell I can't even get outside to build my box, so I can't be to critical...Plus I am still learning about all these manual, math equations that it takes to build a box effectively. I must say without this forum I wouldn't have been able to get this far. Steve and all you guys have helped me through and taught me way more then I have learned in 10 to 15 yrs of tinkering with crap. It is easy to add more port, putting it back would be the hard part.

yeah, i've tried a couple calcs to see what numbers they came up with. one was actually half decent, and gave me the same numbers. so it'll be right around 33hz(supposedly).

i agree with you too. this site is amazing. like...just looking around and reading and seeing all of these pics made me learn so much. i'm gonna try my hand at some beauty panels come spring. maybe door panels too.

so...got some port help...and with the new measurements, the box should look somethin like this

BIG difference between the two. but i'm kinda having high hopes on my box still cuz even tho steves box has a removable port, his daily driving one (at least i think that's the one) is smaller. dimensions are probably a little bigger, but look nothing like that pic. so again...we'll see

box is pretty solid. whenever i get one that i like...whether it be this one or the bigger ported one, i'm gonna resin the inside and cover it and all. kinda gonna be a test run through winter.
