AI James
as far as loudness, I've seen some LOUD clamshell designs, as well as this design that was odd looking but loud as hell

Ernesto
Man some guy had an astro van at one of the comps I attended a few months back with twelve 12"s MTXs... Shit was pretty loud especially for it being in a sealed enclosure.
mojoman
the problem is i already have 2 4kw's. i actually like them except the fact they need a ton of juice to run them. and may i ask what a clamshell box is? i searched for it and couldnt find it on this forum. TechSys
For 2 of those amps, your gonna need some alternator and battery power. No real need to rebuild a dash or add a console (if you don't already have one). I'm still in the design mode for my '89 'Stro. I can tell you this right off the bat. Sound deaden like crazy. I put my system in and found rattles in places I never new could rattle. The most rattle I have though is the roof rack, which will be removed this weekend. the rest can easily be fixed with peal and seal. I've always like flat walls, easier to build/design. After looking at that Kicker setup above, hmmmm, that's got me thinking. I can't tell from the pic, is it ported or sealed? Looks like it may be ported down the center.. Time for me to hit up Termpro.
