best trunk

Recommended Posts

My box I have in my civic has had subs up ports back, subs up ports forward, subs up ports on each side, and now subs forward ports forward all with the same box. You have to be willing to experiment with the box and subs and ports to find what you think is best for your car. At least thats what I did and you can tell by the way my box looks, but when I build my final box it will be subs ports forward.

OP you're trunk makes you a perfect candidate to fire forward. if you make your box close you can do this

http://www.amazon.com/Air-Conditioner-Foam-Seal-42/dp/B00002N78I/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1318337271&sr=8-14

to seal around the edges. I did it in my daily because there was literally next to no room around the box. you can see it on the one side here.

I have a 92 Civic that I found my 2 loudest on the meter set ups were the single 18 DD9518 2008 Hifonics colossus that did 146 and some change with the box built in the trunk firing forward half ass sealed off and then I ran 2 Sundown sa-12s with a DB Drive A72000.1 in a box that was woofers up port back on drivers side that did a 144 and change. Overall I preferred the sound of box with the woofers firing up with port back

And by the way the box that was firing up port back had enough room on each side and around the port for the bass to flow into the cabin

That's the thing I'm gonna seal off the trunk, not 100% but real close. I changed boxes and was able to meter a 140.6 Meca style at the headrest. But I am rebuilding now, throwing a couple HDC310's in there. We'll see how those work out lol
