New DC 12k Clamp Test. ALL HATERS ENTER!

Recommended Posts

Nice results bro. Like I posted the other day this amp is a beast. On ONE Odyssey 1750t with the CAR OFF Rusty and I clamped over 5400w @ 1.3ohm (.5 nominal) on 10.4v... Which is excellent. Once I get my rise down my goal is 6k in my Street A setup. I didn't get why so many people questioned this amp on your first test. Maybe it being a 2 channel amp is confusing some people lol. It is a beast :D

With higher voltage I could see this amP doing 13-14k. I dont have the electrical to keep the voltage high enough to get those numbers.

Do you have 1 or 2 alts doing the 14v batterys?I was going to get the 12k then saw 1st post results and decided against now these look promising. I have 1020amps of alt and 6 d1400s I should be fine with voltage. I only drop .2tenths of a volt full tilt with 10k + clamped

I love the way it is performing in the van. 18s arent exactly the best subs to be using to get big power from the amp but when the van puts up this number sealed up at 25hz I am very happy.

Only 1 350a alt charging the 1400s. Key with the 12k is that you cannot have your voltage over 16.0 or you risk damaging the amp. It should just protect but im not gonna find out. Thats why i backed my voltage down to 15.4 for the test. If you were to start at 15.8 and only drop to 15.6 I think you could get 14k+ from the 12k with a low reactive ohm load.

Now for all of you that hate on those results saying "Im paying for 12000 watts but im not getting it so I am going to be an ass and flame the results"

This second test was done in my truck running 6 Level 3 15s starting ohm load of .67 bridged. Voltage started at 15.4 and dropped to 12.5.

30hz- 97a x 117v= 11349w @ 1.21 ohms

35hz- 95.2a x 123v= 11710w @ 1.29 ohms

40hz- 86a x 129v= 11094w @ 1.5 ohms

45hz- 78.2a x 134v= 10478w @ 1.71 ohms

I believe this is proof for all of those that hated on my original clamp numbers that the 12k is well worth the money you pay because it does well over rated power.

Hell yeah dude! I love it! Ty so much for posting!!! Very nice info :clapping:

To speak for all the haters....

You know Autotek makes an amp that does 75,000 watts for $250...

Well, it is 200 watts RMS and 75,000 peak at 1,000% THD... (And only draws 10 amps!)

LOL! Gotta say I love my DC 5ks!!! (Wish I could afford more, well worth the money!) Running them at .5 ohm and never had them go into protect or anything...
