mrd6
to the OP what frat are you in? Always wondered the same thing about home amps but more to the point of getting loud and sounding great, if you are looking for something that will get straight nasty on a budget, build this: http://billfitzmaurice.net/THT.html I built one two summers ago and have had it in my room in my fraternity ever since and it is so worth it. When i go full tilt on it, full beer cans move around on my coffee table. Drops down to low thirties/high twenties with authority. Think about it! 412 CVX
Because people are dumb enough to pay that much for it. Power for cheap isnt really an issue in home equipment, just go with pro audio stuff rather than the big receiver units. there are differences actually. they have already been explained. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. armykyle1
Well..... Real HT equipment is high fidelity. Look at how much an arc SE series amps are. Well over a grand and you get 75-100 a ch @4 the way a HT amp is setup is quite a bit different than car audio amps. They're much more efficient too. THD is much lower and they put out power over a much more broad spectrum compared to car audio amps. A cheap HT amp can be found for 150-250 so that's not more than a car audio amp. Ray
Inside of an xbox is a powersupply, just like 90% of your elect devices. Look at the plug or the back of all of your shit you plug in. See where it says something like 120v ac input 6.2amp dc output?? Thats cause its inverting to dc Car amps and changing voltage to ac volts, home amps are starting with ac voltage. No powerloss thru inverting or rectifing. Pro audio amps are just raw power. Crown is a different story, but how many of you will buy that. 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
