I did most of my cutting there and then just pieced it together at home and make some small cuts Very interested in this build I have a 06 avy with 2 Q fi full loaded how much longer b4 u have the woofers in both is nice i went a little high on my box so it sits away from the seats about a foot or so Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Real96SS Posted December 12, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2011 So today I'm going to start sanding.I have been trying to find some dowels for bracing the baffle but can't find any here.Any suggestions because if I can't find any I was thinking of buying a broom and cutting it to fit like a dowel.Also on a side note I became a supporting member of the SMD forum today.Small price to pay for all the info and help I get from this forum. Real96SS Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 13, 2011 Well got a chance to sand the box down some and primer it.I think I may have to sand some more though.Not really sure since this is my first time going all out on a box.Don't really care what the inside of the box looks like but I want the port to be smooth for me to put some paint on it later.Not sure what color for the box and port but I was thinking Herculiner on the outside of the box and then paint the port white to match the truck.Anyways here's a picture of the box primed. Real96SS Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 13, 2011 First off let me say that Audio Savings customer service is above all.If you read back a little in this build you will see that I received a cracked battery.I contacted them and got a RMA number and shipped the battery back.As soon as I gave them the tracking a replacement was shipped out WOW!!!. So afterwards I though wow these guys are awesome so I'm going to order 2 more.So now I have 3 batteries total on the way which only leaves me one more to order.So once my harness for my alternators get here from DCPower I will be running all the power and ground wires.Should also have another set of the Alpine 6.5's coming in this week or early next week.So it's going to be pretty busy the next couple weeks.So subscribe so you get the updates as they come in.
