KenC210 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Well the are rated at 3.2-3.4v. In the first pic you can see me wiring them together in groups of 4 leds in series. That way each gets 3v if source is 12. Then i wire groups of them together in parallel so each leg of 4 gets 12v. No resistors, but like i said, there's 104 in my dome, so the total is always going to be divisible by 4 =P So wired together in series the volts get added you get 12.8v-13.6v for each group of 4 and they stay the same for when wired in parallel like you would a battery. So what other attributes change? like the MA=Continuous and peak current, would those change any? And the 12.8-13.6 is only the optimal voltage for these particular leds, they get whatever the battery and alternator give it. Current goes up as groups of 4 go up, but each group pulls the same amount of current on their own. Continuous and peak? This isn't an amplifier dude i don't understand what your getting at. To everyone else, i plan on making a tutorial, i have had a few guys on the VW forums ask to purchase some from me, and i simply don't want to. Quiet Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 That's tight. I know soldering is a bitch but it looks worth it. and the light looks a lot brighter than stock. I don't think you'll have to worry about resistors, but when they're lined up in series like that, one LED goes out all 4 go out. Meh... still looks bitchin. 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
