Junior Russell Posted May 24, 2012 Report Share Posted May 24, 2012 I've always ran OE transmission fluid not because of the "OEM is best" argument, but because of the success of using it over any other brand/mix. Two vehicles with 400K+ miles on them with zero transmission issues is the main reason. I don't see saving $3-$4 on some Maxtron/Dexron III worth it to be honest with you. Isn't Lamborghini and Porsche in that list as well? Not really a 'new' purchase at all, but I picked these up on eBay some years ago for $45, half-working. All the sales people, including the owners son or nephew or something refused to help me because I came in young, tattoo'd, and apparently not dressed right. After about 15 minutes of not being able to get any help my dad walked over and asked for help and they were quick to help. When he came over by me and told me to tell the guy what I was looking for I pulled out a wad of cash and said, "some place that isn't going to judge me and deserves my business" and we walked out.
