hdorre
I just installed a new shift knob. I know..most people wouldnt notice the change, but I like the little things. So, here's the old, worn out, oddly shaped OEM knob Here's the Evo one that was BNIB and that I got for 40% off I need to fix the wrinkles to the bootup be the knob, but I like this much more than the factory one. This is easier to shift fast. I don't mean this as a smart ass, or confrontational.....just curious how a different shaped shifter allows you to shift "faster?"It does look much better than factory one though! Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it. It does look much better than factory one though! I didnt take it as you being a smart ass.. its a valid question lol To answer it... I dont know. I guess the old shifter was awkwardly shaped, and that plays a role. I also tend to shift with the bottom part of my palm when I shift up vertically, and I suppose that I had to gain a good "grip" to do it fast. Its hard to explain haha.. All I know for sure is that Im happy On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

All I know for sure is that Im happy Is one heavier than the other, specifically the new one heavier than the old? Usually when you get a weighted shifter head, that's what helps shift easier or faster because of the weight. It allows it to change gears faster than forcing it into gear by hand. Essentially the weighted head does the work for you. At least that's my understanding. If it's not weighted, then I have no clue, other than feel.
