More copper = more weight, witch i assume means less 1W/1M efficiency,But yet more overall thermal capacity due too more coil mass. I think im right, but correct me if im wrong. TeamHT Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 A larger voicecoil with more windings and layers is going to equal more mms, meaning less efficiency, thus needing more power to get to a certain level of loudness. It adds to the weight of the whole moving assembly, making low end stronger and sacrificing the top end and sensitivity, but it does up the power handling. It's all a compromise. "i'd take power handling just to be "yo mang, my shiz so powerful it'll take 5,000watts" and that's when all the noobs will be worshipping me." Nick had explained this once before, I just need to remember where.... Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
