Ugly ass mod, but it´s his amplifier so it´s cool lol

38336310150479275553300.jpg

Clamp results:

41.9 Volts

41.2 Amps

41.9 x 41.2 = 1726 Watts RMS

41.9 /41.2 = 1.02 Ohms

Voltage Drops : 13.8v

Score on the termlab, legal on the dash: 146.6 dbs, i forgot to take a picture tho.

Did a little bit less than the 1608D , but, the owner said he had to fix some FETs a few months ago, maybe that was the problem?? or it´s just that some amplifiers are more powerful than the other ones even been the same model, that´s why you always see different birthsheets on the kicker and fosgate amplifiers, it´s cool tho, still did pretty good like the 1608D did, very nice amplifiers for such a low price :)

That's still a good result for a budget amp! I appreciate it brother :good:

It´s the quality of the ampguts partselction, that make those diffrences.

PS. Iforgot something, thankyou for this awsome thread.

you are welcome bro, anything i can do to help out, and thanks for the input, i kind of thought the same thing, got to be the repair :)

"41.9 /41.2 = 1.02 Ohms"

lowest box rise yet!

haha yeah man, i mean, it did a little bit less power and a lower impedance rise, pretty sure it was the parts he installed when he repaired the amp, don´t know tho :)

Difference in amplifiers is due to the tolerances of the components within. While I was in school for electrical engineering, I built class a, b, c, and d amps from scratch and the resistors we were supplied had a 5 or 10 % tolerance, caps were 20%, and inductors were 30% unless we hand wrapped them. Also, FETs have their own production tolerances in which the beta of an npn and pnp transistors are usually good for about 5%. I know that amplifier companies use better quality parts, but a 5% tolerance in the beginning of the circuitry is only further amplifier through the circuit and causes the up to 100 watt difference in amps off the same production line.

Sorry for the mini lesson, just thought some people might like some background info
