While I was in school for electrical engineering, I built class a, b, c, and d amps from scratch and the resistors we were supplied had a 5 or 10 % tolerance, caps were 20%, and inductors were 30% unless we hand wrapped them. Also, FETs have their own production tolerances in which the beta of an npn and pnp transistors are usually good for about 5%. I know that amplifier companies use better quality parts, but a 5% tolerance in the beginning of the circuitry is only further amplifier through the circuit and causes the up to 100 watt difference in amps off the same production line.
