Wicks
More details... Are the speakers powered by the HU or a separate amp? From the previous comments, it sounds like speakers off of an amp. If so, do you have an iPod/Discman/mp3/portable music player? Try disconnecting the HU from the amp and connect the standalone portable player into the amp. With the portable unit laying music into the amp, try the brakes again. If its still popping then the amp is mostly to blame. If the pop goes away its most likely the HU. Are the RCA's from the HU to the amp running by any power wires? Can also try running a separate RCA cable from the HU to the amp that is held up in the air away from any noise sources. AlexanderLeet
Having the same problem, BUT the problem doesn’t go away even with a pair of RCA’s connected to my phone, I can still hear that popping when I press the brake + alternator whine when revving...very frustrating. Could it be the alternator diodes? ‘Cause the guy from where I got the amp told me that it doesn’t have any problem and I should try powering it on a friend’s car.
