Tuning For 4 L7 15's

Recommended Posts

thats alot of port area, but then again you are running 4-15's. looks about right to me.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

well i switched subs.....I was goin with L7's but now I got 4 18" BTLS....would that still be too low?

thats pretty low, im doing my single 15" to 37hz, but those subs are different, idk i would go to around 34, 35Hz with those subs

I got the design from a member on this forum but I just wanna make sure if 305.5sq" of port area (12.8/cube), 23.9cube enclosure (5.97/sub) tuned at 33.66hz Is the right tuning for these speakers.Just wanna make sure.Thnx :)

per fi forum:

BTL 15 – Ported box we recommend using 3-5 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume.

imo i would do 20cuft@34hz with 280-300sqin port

thats going to be loud whatever size and tuning you end up with

Why higher tuning if its in a wall??

wavelength. my wall was tuned to 42 hz and it still got down pretty damn good. id say 38-40 would be better though.

Please elaborate, "wavelength" doesn't really answer my question. What is the downside to tuning a wall at 33hz?
