dyablo409 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 So i bought some AA hovocs and i didnt mess with any of my gaines or anything on my deck when i put them in and yes i tuned it wtih my dd-1 and when i was playing the song bass cannon by dj slow n throw i smelled my coils burning i immediately turned it down so my question is dj slow n throw shit is clipped to hell or is there somthing else wrong because i can play decaf or bigpimpin and not have a problem.

I've played that track before with no problems. Do the dust caps feel hot? Shouldnt everything be lvl when using the DD1. Anywhys being a rookie/ noob I car audio if you smell something burning that's not good. dyablo409 Posted December 10, 2011 Author Report Posted December 10, 2011 I pretty sure it was the coils i have burned my fair share of speakers i stuck my nose in the port and thats were the smell was coming from. When i had the cvr in there i could play anything well after i tuned it with the dd-1 and i had no problems. I dont know if it could be my amp being old and not working like it should that could cause this maybe its time for a new amp. The only time i have felt my dust warm was when i was playing a song by bigpimpin the dogs somthing dont memeber the full name i had it at full tilt and recording a port trick.

Yea i set everything on flat my subpreout at 0 source 0 loud off and thats how i have left it

Yes they are new i had them for about two weeks but i havent played them that much exccept on the ride to shamrock tx about an 11 hour drive because im working out of town and i dont use my car very much so i havent played them for to long this is a small town and eveything is close to the hotel so i dont have that much of a cruise time to bang bass.
