67 Camaro. The blue bomber *EDIT* Now the green machine NOT DONE! Final edition

Recommended Posts

Ok, I finally have a little time to update this. I haven't been able to get as much as I want done during the week. Been crazy busy at work and the last thing I've felt like doing is a bunch of hours out in the garage.

So I've been working on the final trim out in the trunk. trying a few ideas and I still need to backlight the O logo Heres how it sits now.

I've been working on the idea to bring in one more layer. I'm having some mixed feelings about adding in an edge light as i'm having a hell of a time with washout. The cool thing about the LED strips I got is that they are super bright. Bad news is, I don't need super bright right here. the plan isn't final yet, nor have I given up on trying it. Just need to fux with it some more to see if I can get the look I want.

I've also been working on my custom dash bezel. After a good amount of sanding to get it just right, It was ready to go in the dash.

I decided while it was out I would drill out all my holes. Nothing like holding yer breath will making hols so ya don't fux it up ;)

These are the switches I'll be using in the dash. Those little pins will be fun to solder.

I then ziptied the bezel into place so I can glass it from the backside. Trust me, glassing the back side of a dash was NO FUN.

1st layer of mud on and ready to be shaped into place.

003-17.jpg

004-17.jpg

1st layer sanded down and ready to have the small filler layer added on.

005-17.jpg

Working with the line of the old and the new is tricky. It's more of a feel for what it should look like. The old bondo layer doesn't help the design process. If all goes well, it should look factory when finished.

2nd layer of mud is on and drying. Time for a fresh beer and a cigar :D

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
