SojiaRaggs9000
I was talking to a friend about the dd-1 one today and he asked me a good question. Say you have an amp that does 3k but you only want to push 1k with it... How would you set the amp with the dd-1? Now I know how to do it with a DMM but not the DD-1. Any Ideas? bobobass
The dd-1 is only made to get the most possible power with no distortion from an amp. The only way to accurately set it to a certain wattage would be with the use of a volt meter and a ac clamp meter Quote 2000 Subaru outback 2.5l Head Unit: Pioneer deh 4300ub front stage: tbd subwoofer: Stock Fi Q 18" amp: Audio que 1200d
MrSkippyJ
Set the amp with the DD-1, then back the gain DOWN from that point using a DMM. t-money
if it does 3k clean then it will do 1k clean right? so either use a clam and a dmm. or tune it buy ear. u should be able to have an idea of when enough is enough Quote 2002 ford focus hatch pioneer DEH-P8400bh infinity kappa 6.5 components front and rear XS Power D1200 Shuriken BT-100 audioque 120.4 2 15 inch audioque HDC3 D2 2 audioque 2200d big 3 mechman 220a alt with external regulator 479-418-3056

NO telling at all how much power you're putting through something when using 'the ear' method.

Any Ideas? who would buy a 3k amp and only run it at 1k, its a waste of money to me, get a smaller amp or bigger subs, my pick bigger subs Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
TonyD'Amore
You could set the amplifier gain with the -0dB track. This will lower the average power output quite a bit.
Real96SS
I have never even thought of this to be honest.Have never been in the position of needing less power out of an amp.Hope you figure it out.Good luck Quote Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/
Decaf
dd-1 it, then turn it down by dmm method... its not going to be accurate because of every note sees different power why not dd-1 it to -5db and just use the sub level on deck to lower the voltage going to the sub amp
SojiaRaggs9000
Sorry been busy, work etc. Reason I ask is because I have an 09 DC PAI 3000.1 and rather not get rid of it in case I want to upgrade again. I recently traded in my Taurus and striped all the audio gear b4 trading it in. He (my friend) was thinking about using my amp for the time being but we wasn't sure how to tune it with the dmm. Yeah you can wire it to 3ohm and get 1500rms but im sure it does way more than rated. Was just wondering how to get the best both worlds.
