TylerParrish Posted December 17, 2011 Report Share Posted December 17, 2011 I've got a 2012 scion tc. For Christmas I'm getting 2 sa-12s and a soundstream rub. 1600.1d wired at 1 ohm. I was wondering about box specs. I wanna make my own box. I want to hit the lows real good while still being fairly loud. I've read a lot, but I've got a lot of conflicting views on what I should tune the box to. I'm thinking anywhere between 32-40 Hz, but I'm not sure so I came here cause I figured I would get the besttt advice possible sooo if anyone with more experience can help me, what size should I make my box and what should it be tuned to for the best mix of lows and highs. What would you recommend for box and tuning within those specs? Sheena Posted December 17, 2011 Report Share Posted December 17, 2011 i built a box for my buddy that was 4.2 cubes net. he had a 07 scion tc and the box was 21" deep, which prevented his back seats from folding up . also are you sure its 37" wide? yours is a new scion i know, but his was only 34" with the trim panels on. (just in case) im pretty sure your in the same boat with the requirement of the seats being folded down at all times to get the required cubic feet. also when you build the box, make sure you carpet the top back edges, because they will slap against your back glass if you do bare mdf. im not a pro or anything, but i wanna say.. 3.9 cu ft @ 32 hz with 15" of port per cu ft? ive never had sundown, so take my box specs just kind of as a ballpark figure.
