OrenB217
Ive only had 3 systems in the past and i always ran off of 1 amp, i was going to try to run 2 nightshade v2 15s off of 2 saz 2500s strapped at 1 ohm each amp (2 ohm final) or just get a sundown 4500 at 1 ohm. I heard that you lose more power when you strap 2 amps but im not sure if thats true. Any input would be great *i'm trying to SQL, both daily and competition, i'm trying to get a little more into competition next year Edited December 21, 2011 by OrenB217 Quote Black 1998 Nissan Maxima1st Setup: 145.8 DB Outlaw @37 HZ On Music Out Of Trunk2nd Setup: 147.8 DB @42 HZ On Music Out The TrunkCurrent Trunk Build:153.8 DB Outlaw @ 49 HZ Out the trunk (150.8 DB Sealed)Team gg. OrionStang
I never understood why people strap amps with a setup like your considering. If you have 2 amps and 2 subs, just put an amp on each sub at 1 ohm. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
n8ball2013
strapping elts you set one gain. and allows you to have one load. ive seen instances where a pair of strapped amps was stronger than a single amp as well orion 1200ds strapped would do like 3600 watts an orion 2500d does 3200 or so. Socky
I would strap them, that way you may get more power out of the two strapped than running a single amp after rise. fecupe2001
Strapped or not, i seriously recommend you to use 2 smaller amplifiers, easier to sell, easier to fit in the car, if one of them broke down you still have some bass, on wich case, you can change parts from one to the other one until you find the problem on the broken amplifier and just fixed, i could keep going all day long hehe. I used a Soundigital 8K , cadence C6 and another couple of big amplifiers, now i only use multiple small amps and i´m so damn happy Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Yes, dual 2 ohms coils and just strap the amps, positive from the subs to positive on the master, negative from the subs to positive on the slave, of course, not all amplifiers strap the same way but that´s the most commun way, i´ve been using 2 smaller amplifiers strapped for about 2 years now and i´m very happy Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Freshman6969
correct me if im wrong, but youll see more rise when you strap compared to when you use a single amp, or a single amp per woofer Quote Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! AMI CUSTOMS
I never understood why people strap amps with a setup like your considering. If you have 2 amps and 2 subs, just put an amp on each sub at 1 ohm. Might be why you aren't loud? LOL ^^^^Couldn't resist. BUT by strapping amps, the MAIN advantage is you are running a higher impedance, so total output current is lower and output voltage is higher, current kills!!! Voltage is a hugh PLUS!!! If you want me to explain it further I can, but that is the biggest benefit honestly.
