Need help picking a tool set

Recommended Posts

My current tool set with random missing sockets has got to go. It was given to me as a gift and I can tell it came from walmart. The ratchet always broke on me. I like to do small jobs on cars, and go as far as to changing suspension related parts. Could someone help recommend a good tool set for around 200$ from sears or elsewhere...

I have a few craftsman ratchets that broke twice on me when removing a cv axel nut. (Shoulda used a breaker bar, which I didn't have)

Is there anything better than craftsman and with good warranty for the price range I am looking for?

Any help is appreciated. I have used the same crappy tool set for 4 years and it's about time for an upgrade.

Thanks! :drinks:

look on ebay for Napa tools. You can get them at a great price. They are very easy to exchange at Napa when broken, I have not broken any yet.

Look for KD or gearwrench sets too, sometimes you can get a set cheap. They are also lifetime warranty at napa or sears. BTW keep you cheap tools you will never know when you will need to bend a cheap wrench or cut one shorter.

here's a good start

http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog

and then build on that with what ever else you need

if its a bit to pricey look at this

http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog

or even the appearance starter

http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog

everyone got to start somewhere

in aust. im one of only 2 people with the tool wagon, as not to many want to drop 24k on an empty box

http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog

this is what i have (its 21895+ 10%gst here)
