Port length was put as 10.68in depth... New build coming soon. My bad. 34 x 15 x 22. tuned to 38 hz Box was made this way, port firing in the back because my max dimension I can work with is 36 x 15.5 x 26. New build coming soon. Joe X Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Ok if your external dims are 34x15x22 and you are doing a flush mount and assuming a displacement of 0.15 cuft per each of the 3 subs then your port needs to be: 4 inches wide, 15.83 inches long and 13.5 inches. 4 inches wide port will produce a Vent area/Vb of = 12.8 a 3 inches wide port will produce 9.6 therefore 4 inches is better. And keep in mind that the corner of the port should have at least 4 inches wide so smooth it properly. Wood thickness is assumed at 0.75 inches.

And port volume is NOT related to box volume, it is determined by air velocity. If you put 3 cheap-o tens with a 5mm of excursion on 100 watts in that box, it will work fine. Put 3 tens with 25mm of excursion with 3000 watts, and while it may sound great, the port will not be operating as it should. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
