SpawnZ
What do you mean by filters? And my LPF is on 35hz out of 200hz. The amp only goes into protect mode when it hits the lows loud.
SnowDrifter
What do you mean by filters? And my LPF is on 35hz out of 200hz. The amp only goes into protect mode when it hits the lows loud. Heres what you do. Set it with the dd-1 again, but this time, turn the low pass filter all the way up. If the amp has a subsonic filter, turn that all the way down. Then set your low pass to around 50-60hz and see how it sounds ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

SnowDrifter
Alright, I'll try it tomorrow. Getting late here. Sounds good. Here is a technical explanation as to why so you understand what is happening The amp has a 24db/octave crossover. Whatever you set it to will be the -6db point. Now if I did my math right (someone check me on this, I have never done any calculations of this sort before) 40hz is ~1/5th of an octave above 35hz. So at 24db/octave, it is down by ~5db, on top of the 6db given by the crossover point, on top of the -10db track you were using. So you were essentially setting your amp with a -21db "track" which is why it was clipping so early ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
armykyle1
first off DO NOT TURN THAT AMP UP AT ALL ON STOCK ELECTRICAL............ That's just asking to ruin shit. read through the whole manual of the DD-1, it will give you a better understanding of what you're doing. Also search 'gain setting tutorial' on youtube.
