Sid420 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Okay. I am thinking about doing a wall build but I am second guessing myself. Because I notice I look out my back window. A LOT! So can anybody give me some tips when building a wall. Just anything that could help me out because I am a noob 17 year old. Do any hints, tips. Would be nice and thankful. If you want to know I am doing 6 12's band pass. 12 skar vvx kinda like the mailboom. I have saving for about 2 months now. So hopefully I have enough within next couple months.

getlocivic Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 1st get a solid design from a reputable person ( ram designs or whoever else does them).. and always meAsure 2 or 3 times cut once!! never cheap out on your electrical cardboard makes excellnt templates.. cut the cardboard to fit then transfer to wood.. general rule of thumb for port area is 12 to 16" per cubic foot.. some people run more some less... me myself i like to stick with 14 to 16 per

When I say tips I mean with the box and I was think of a backup camera but don't what is good or not? i havent used my rearview since it snaped off, i use my side veiws, i got used to it after a bit, even though my drivers side veiw is broken, gotta love bass! also dont forget you need room for amps and batts! ive seen a few people build shit and forget they have batts and amps they need to put in Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! I had a customer pay for a 4th order design from one of the designers on the forum, and the airspace he claimed was in the sealed chamber was not even close. Rear view cams are great. I had one on my walled suburban and liked it so much I had to put one on my non-walled truck. I think the best use is backing into a parking spot, or backing up to connect onto a trailer (which I do a lot).
