JohnayyBoyy
So I posted about two days ago that I have have power loss issues as to where my bass would drown out. The replies that i got said to take out the capacitor , as for it being the problem. well i took out the capacitor and hooked my two positives cords together so it would tie into my amp. i turned on the truck and the bass hit for about 3 seconds and my amp completely turned off . Now what is the problem? ohhh and i checked voltage today. from the alternator to the battery im getting 14 volts. and from the battery to the capacitor i was getting 5 volts. if that helps any Edited January 9, 2012 by JohnayyBoyy

SnowDrifter
Something is screwed up with your wiring. The amp turned off because there was not enough voltage to keep it on. What amp do you have? What gauge wiring do you have? How long is the wire? Have you done the big 3? And having 2 wires twisted together doesn't make the best electrical connection especially as wires get bigger and bigger - that might be your issue. Both AT the battery, and the AT the capacitor. Its probably got a loose wire and its not charging. Guest
you said you connected both ends of the positive wire together? (the one that used to go into the cap, and the one that went from the cap to the amp) thats a huge no-no dude. you have to replace the wire with a whole new run. as far as the 9v worth of drop, it sounds like theres a loose connection somewhere. whether it be on the wire lugs attached to the wire, or a loose connection in the fuse block (only two i can think of at the moment). make sure you go over EVERY SINGLE contact point coming from the battery to the amp, down the whole line of wire.
