That theory goes completely against Tlines...so does that mean Tlines are less efficient?..just wondering

How I understand it is(and correct me if I'm wrong):

tlines operate on a fundamentally different level.

A ported box gets it's tuning from how fast air molecules go out of the box, the reduce the box pressure to suck them back in, then that increases the box pressure until they are forced back out.

A t-line gets it's tuning from the physical speed of sound. How long it takes a compression wave to travel the entire length of the port.

Edit: My posts are getting more and more wordy as I get more tired. I'm coming back to this in the morning when I can explain things in a way that actually makes sense lol

So the most you'd be running is 1200w rms. The two 10's would hardly be getting half the rms. The 18 for now would be better powered, unless you want to get the two 10's and settle with 1200rms for a few months (Or year by the looks of your budget?). I'd personally get the 18" with 1200wrms going to it. It'll take it with ease. Having the two 10's would be like starving two children. It just feels wrong.

x2 i have to agree if they are both on the same amp i would choose the 18 agree with the starving children metaphor

Not one person has mentioned excursion? Cone area is only one piece of the puzzle, overall displacement is what you are looking for.

From what I have heard from many (IMO)credible people, yes.

i don't think 12's on half power will move more than 18 on full power

The x-max on them is the same. No need to mention something if it's the same, therefor irrelevant.

yes there is when 12's will only have 600 each out of 1200 rms therefore won't reach full excursion or shouldn't

I meant under optimal power for each. Sorry.

Sure, but we wouldn't want anyone reading this topic to get the wrong idea about the cone area thing.

Not gonna read all this but I'd go with the 2 12" woofers especially if you're going in a trunk. If you're not in a trunk and don't plan on upgrading woofers within a few years, I'd still go 12's. With the 12's you're going to have double the coil area so you'll have more thermal power handling than a single 18 imo, you can always add more power in the future once you feel you're ready to do so.
