scooter99
I know pics don't tell the whole story, but they really do look good from what I see. May I ask why so much filler? Maybe I'm not seeing it correctly, but it looks like you're going over the whole thing over and over again? Just seems like a lot more work than you need to be putting in? I'm not sure, maybe I'm wrong, I'll go back and look at the pics again, but if that's what you're doing, and without sounding harsh at all, stop doing it. Spot fill, sand, spot fill, sand, finer sand, finer than that sand, primer. This is what I learned a while back. Other than that, buddy, it's looking really good!! Aren't you covering these anyway? Not paint but cloth or something? I don't wanna go back and find it I'm sure you've said it already. Hope none of that sounded critical. Just trying to help. You're doors and work inspire me! I wanna get started on mine baddly!!! Edit: Ok I just went back and looked and you're not, I was wrong, so my bad! I guess the fixes made it seem that way, but you had to do that. So disregard what I said! I do wanna know, however, what the RGB leds are and why they're so special. I mean I see Steve using them too. Is it just RGB (Red Green Blue) and that's it, or are they super bright or what? Curious. Thanks! Is it just RGB (Red Green Blue) and that's it, or are they super bright or what? Curious. Thanks! Thanks man. And your probably right about me using too much filler. The reason I did it that way was one, because I suck at body work. And two, cause around the bottom, I just kept needing more. But you are exactly right, each coat I did, I was putting on thinner and thinner. I guess I've just been trying as hard as I could to make these come out perfect, which they have not. But your right, and the plan is to wrap them in vinyl, but I wanted to finish them for painting, again so they would come out cleaner... But thank you for the tips, wish I woulda known all that stuff before About the RGB, the reason I got them is they change to more than just red, green and blue. They will go several different colors, and patters, giving you the choice of what you want to do with your lights. The only other option was to get a solid color, like blue or white, and what fun would that be? Plus, on eBay they are about the same price, so I figured why not? your build is looking awesome man, im doing doors now too, they are the hardest part of the whole thing for sure, cause of fitment and shape and getting them perfect !! Thanks man, and you are right. Hardest part I've done so far by a long shot. But just think of how cool our rides will be once they are finished Kickin' Cruiser Seller Feedback Stage 3 Dash, Door Panels,4th Order wall 4 - 15'son a DC 5.0K 2 DC 5.0K'sSolo X 15 (v.2) Sub Build
Purplehaze
I did a little more sanding and priming yesterday, and started the re-wire of my dash. Got everything pulled out of the way now, that should help make it easier to run all this new wire. Just a few more pics, nothing special. More primer after some fine sanding. This is the "finishing" primer, the last stuff was filler primer. These were taken right after I sprayed so you can still see streaks. They are actually getting pretty smooth now, I'm a lot happier than I was the night before. But still not finished! Drivers door Passenger side Getting closer! I have a very busy week ahead, between work, doctor, and dentist appointments. So I probably wont get to work on them again until possibly this weekend. I know I've said this before, but this time I really mean it: I hope to have them in and playing by sometime next week for a test run, then we will focus on getting them wrapped up. Thanks for looking, all comments are welcome! scooter99
Very nice looking! Keep at it, you're doing fine. You're learning too! I suck at body work too, but I've learned you can't be perfect when putting it on, the perfection come in sanding it in different levels and spot filling. You're getting it though! Nice job! Purplehaze
Very nice looking! Keep at it, you're doing fine. You're learning too! I suck at body work too, but I've learned you can't be perfect when putting it on, the perfection come in sanding it in different levels and spot filling. You're getting it though! Nice job! Thanks fellas! Well I have not got to work on anything this week, it's been a very busy week for myself, to say the least. But I did have some good luck. You may remember, last month we went to a show in Columbus, and I wound up losing my new Kodak camera. Well, thankfully there are still some good, honest people out there. Because I got a text from Josh (Kbsmoker) this past week, saying he had my camera, and would send it to me for free! Well, I was in Columbus this week anyway, so I just stopped by his work and picked it up. But yeah, that was really cool out of him, most people would have just kept it. But he didn't, and that to me, shows what kind of a man he is. Thanks again Josh, I really appreciate it! Hopefully I can get that demo soon In the meantime, there are some pics on it from the show that never got posted. Man I'm glad to have this back! I'm sure you all can tell a big difference in the photo quality. I can. So anyway, here are the pics from the show, I only took a few before I lost the camera, and a few more recent ones of the door panels. You may recognize this guy... Aaron (gotz1lung) and his run And here was his score. Notice that it was @29hz.... Now that's what I call "Loud and Low"! And here are those door panel shots. I will be finishing them up this weekend, as long as I don't melt from the heat! So check back for more soon! And again, thanks Josh, no more blurry shitty pictures here!
