singer alts

Recommended Posts

just heard back from singer alts and had a few questions. first off this is for a 2003 ford focus with the zetec. tax return should be in the bank on the 14th so im getting an alt.

the alt, its a 250 amp alt and comes with a pulley to increase ouput at a lower rpm, 390 shipped to me in alaska.

the questions, (hopefully those that have tested them can help)

what rpm range does it put out its rated power?

how good is fitment?

im guessing the pulley will be slightly smaller, does this mean i need a slightly smaller belt or will the tensioner do good on it?

how long have you had your singer alt?

would a 250 amp alt and 1 xs power battery be enough to power a rf t1500.1bdcp and t400.1bd?

thanks for the help in advance

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

one thing about singer is that it doesnt have the adjustable plug like the other makes and will run you about $169 to get it bringing the price close to others,

you still wouldnt go wrong with the singer alt though

the XS D975 said it was good up to 2000 watts. so one should be enough. or get a slightly larger one than that to be sure

I talked to Mechman, DC Power, Excessive Amperage, and Mike before deciding on my Singer alt. His customer service was just insane. I emailed for a quote at midnight and had a reply within 10 minutes. Has been that way every time I have contacted him, even for non-alternator related questions.

Agreed...that's not to say that Mechmans CS was lacking cause I had a good experience with them too, but the combination of quality of product, customer service and price made it hard to not go with Singer.

i edit the post to take the other brand off, but yeah the singer alt dont come with the adjustable regulator like other brands. thats 1 plus i give the other brand so if i ever upgrade to 14v batts all i would have to do is turn the little screw clockwise to get the voltage up. but regardless mike does make good alt

well mike said its a direct fit, bolt on and plug in no needed changes or anything. the xs batt im looking at is the d5100 maybe the d3400 depending on the difference in shipping.
