So it must be a wiring issue then go back over your wiring. Keep in mind that some relays have a diode inline with the coil to help keep it from ringing....and that may be his problem. OP, Try swapping your inputs on pins 85 and 86. Ray Posted February 12, 2012 Report Share Posted February 12, 2012 The relay only needs 12 on 86 and ground on 85 to turn over or "click".. Even if its diode suppressed you had it hooked up correctly before. At this point id say ground if the relay isnt clicking. If it is clicking then you have a 12v supply issue or rem wire issue to the amps. So. ..... Tarball Posted February 12, 2012 Report Share Posted February 12, 2012 Hello all, having a bit of a puzzler. i have 4 sundown 3500s hooked up to my 9 16 volt xp1000s. power grounds are wired up. remotes are all jumped together. i tried using the normal turn on and nothing. i jumped the bat + to turn on and everything turns on. hooked up a bosch style 5 pin relay 30 to 16 volt bats + = to amp turn on 85 to ground 86 to 12 volt turn on/remote wire. 87 to amp turn on = to 16v bat+ 87a nothing hooked up thanks guys!!! Do you have your 12v bat / 16v bats and the relay sharing a common ground? irpirate Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 13, 2012 sorry guys for the late reply. been busy as hell trying to get everything hooked up. ended up pulling the relay off and just throwing a toggle switch on it for now. i don't have a common ground for the 12 and 16 volt side.
