neuspeedescort
i just was about to ask what did you guys mean by "black one" and not buying it. is that the crimper or the dies? i notice that the black dies are standard and the chrome ones are metric. call me lazy or just wanting to be dunb but i would prefer the standard. however in my quick search the standard die crimpers on ebay go for about 8-11 dollars more? Decaf
Lol, I do it to all my wires, crimp it, solder it, and electrical tape =D haha. care to post a pic of a finished terminal bare? just curious if it looks like the pancake i have in my head although your method might work for you, its not ideal. I'll stick with the correct tool for the job and know i don't need to solder because the crimp is doing all that needs to be done. step into 2012 where you crimp correctly and heatshrink... lol
carshateme
Lol I don't like clamp it all the way down, just to a point where I can't really slide the wire out... and I guess I'm oldschool lol. I have a wire in my car, but my car is in the shop...so no photos today =*( New build coming soon. NEUMAN It's the black dies, I tried to use it on my 1/0 terminals and well, I kinda have a little of the pancake look. The "00" looks like it was made for 4 AWG. Look here for the right size for us 2 AWG trimmed a little to fit in a 4 AWG terminal on the left, 1/0 on the right using said "00" die for both since it is the largest UBL | Build Log

kirill007
Open ended ones are for soldering, close ended ones are for crimping Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
