jakobebassbudds Posted February 17, 2012 Report Share Posted February 17, 2012 i personally dont consider alpine crappy just main stream name brand and over priced . alpine type rs and xs are good subs . definitely not competition but if you had enough of them in spec enclousers and the right power they would do numbers and i think they sound great . i did a 150.1 with 3 12 type Xs and a powerbass 4k in an s10 at 44 hz . i could play music easily 145 to 146 and it sounded great. if you build the right box for an alpine it will sound great . alpine great daily overpriced name brand groundpounder (type Rs and Xs only) Es and Ss are like high powered door speakers 2 12ks and i dont know what to do build in the works! ChevyBoy95 Posted February 17, 2012 Report Share Posted February 17, 2012 people (on this forum) really underestimate alpine though, even being mainstream. a lot of people on here get the idea that ANYTHING mainstream is crap and everything "underground" so to speak is the best shit around. Rather than knowing how well kicker, alpine, etc. can truly perform. type r's are good subs, and not too pricey. as far as being SQ, no, well at least not in my opinion. But if some one could please design me a box?? It's for 2 10's alpine dual 4ohm 600 rms that would be great!! Or if some one has an extra custom box laying around for these type r's I would buy it!
