Box for 2 DC Level 5 18s

Recommended Posts

really thinking about adding another level 5 18 to my truck, and keeping the box pretty much at the window line. my main question is port area, and firstly, I WILL NOT WALL IT, anyone who even suggests that will be ignored (not trying to be an ass so i am giving warning), second, I am just trying to see how much port i really need, tuning will be low 30s, like 32-34. Each sub will get about 5.5 cubes (yes, this is ok, Ive talked to rusty, just forgot to ask about port area). And lastly, please dont say 12-16 per cube should be ok... Just trying to get a straight forward answer. thanks in advance for anyone trying to help.

current box:

6.1 cubic feet, 31.9hz, 115 sq in of port.

I love the way it sounds, but there is no way i can get 230 sqin of port and maintain anything above 8 cubes, also im not seeking to get that much port area either.

this is why 2 15s can be better because you can fit the appropriate box

you need to state how much power the subs are getting to figure out how much volume/port area is need

i made this decision, thats why im selling my recone before i use it. Already have box plans, new amp rack plans, electrical, etc.

and power will be around 2300 for starters, not much for them, but will be louder than what i have now for sure. they will be in nice sized chambers, 3.4cubes per sub, and a decent sized port, 66 sq in per, 33/34hz
