Loud off. EQ Flat. Subwoofer shouldn't be on reverse. Should be on normal IIRC on those decks. Gain is not a volume knob. Don't keep turning it thinking it will be louder.

how does wire increase impedance?

http://www.cirris.co...tance/wire.html

that is a resistance chart.

impedance is the resistance of AC current. so a smaller wire, with more resistance, with ac power going through it, will have a higher resistance to the flow of current (impedance)

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

also keep in mind my subwoofer is not in a box its used as free air at the moment

why would you even consider doing something like that?

Read the fucking manual. Jesus Christ.

I dunno about that Steve...

resistance is not the same thing as impedance. The wires resistance does not change no matter what kind of a circuit it is in.

and even according to that chart, 12g wire has .15ohms per 100ft. Hell even 20g is only 1ohm per 100ft.

That reminds me of my first pair of subwoofers, I was so ready to hear them playing that I threw them in the cardboard box they came in and duct taped the crap out of it... Then I built a box and it literally got 10x louder.
