Pulled over for Bass?

What I don't understand is this...... You can hear a loud a** Harley Davidson motorcycle a mile away....NO TICKET. You hear my car 30 ft away and I get a ticket? smh. I've gotten pulled over once, and my music wasn't even on. The cop just saw me nodding my head so I guess he guessed. Went to court....dismissed. In Detroit, you rarely get a ticket for something so weak, unless a cop is having a bad day. In the surrounding suburbs, you better turn that ish down, especially in the cities that border Detroit. I try to be curtious to neighborhoods and times of the day. I know I don't want to hear loud bass notes at 1 in the morning.

Not sure about Harleys, but you CAN get a ticket here for having your truck to loud.. exhaust wise .. rarely happens but it does every now and then.

I've been ticketed multiple times for noise pollution/ audible loudspeaker in Sacramento. Cops say its 50 ft. i've racked in over $1800 in tickets just from my system. i've learned my way around it tho, I was pulled over one time for loud music, yet i wasn't even playing any. If you question the cop when you're pulled over, you might go free, ask him, "how do you know it was me?" "did you SEE me playing my music?" "What proof do you have?". Around that point, most just give up. if not, take him to court. unless they have you on video with a db meter pointed at your car, there's no real proof. and its worth fighting the $375 ticket. trust me.

Even so, Ive had freinds fight the DB meter with the argument of "was/is the meter callibrated correctly and how long ago was it callibrated...." and have NEVER gotten a ticket.. But then they had to many court dates with no payout so they changed the law to "If you get pulled over for bass" they are allowed to cut a 1-2' section of your power cable running from your battery.... now thats worse then a fucking ticket!!!! glad I dont live there anymore... so NOONE MOVE TO ESCANABA MICHIGAN!!

That said.. Nobody around here really has systems... With my last wall the cop would walk up and ask wtf is that... Becasuee they couldnt shin their light thru the back window.. Then ask for a demo... Tell me I'm gonna b deaf cause of it and let me go..

If I ever got a ticket I would fight it and bitch about all the damn rice burners and mustangs around here with open header/ strait pipes.. Shit gets annoying..

They don't understand that the truck could have gotten retardedly louder with a simple turn of the knob, but I've never been ticketed. I would fight it. There are many arguments that could be made with the general openness of the law that almost anyone could win.

I agree completely, Im just hoping it doesn't become a problem here in my town.. small town and noone really has anything that great.. kicker here is the best of the best.. Cept a DC level 2, my friend has is the loudest.. besides me of course so it's never been a problem.. just hoping that it doesn't become one.

Let off with a warning and told him I thought noise ordinance is only from 9pm-7am, and he promptly asked me if I wanted to see the law after he knew I was running late so I said no and took his word for it.

Called down to the station later and was told noise violations aren't enforced until 9pm, lol.

Good that he let me off with a warning, but bad for not knowing the law. Still, I try and keep it down in residential/busy places.
