tonedeaf Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 So a while back my RF T1000 stopped working, assuming somehow the RCAs grounded and fried it, or theres a loose connection with the RCA connection on the amp. After this happened, my Sub Pre-outs on my CDA-9887 stopped working, althought my rear and front channel outs still work. My question is, is it worth my time and shipping price to send it to Alpine to possibly have it fixed? Anyone had any experience with this? Dont want to waste $20 to ship it out, then $95 to get it 'fixed' by Alpine, just to get it back and it not work. Any ideas? Anyone better/cheaper to send it to? Or can I just pull the thing apart myself to find out whats wrong with it. Any insight is helpful guys, really dont want to have $250 down the drain on this headunit.

tonedeaf Posted March 1, 2012 Author Report Posted March 1, 2012 Dumb question but have you checked the settings on the deck? Maybe the sub got somehow turned off? Or down? I was going down the road and my sub stopped playing and those frequencies started playing through my rear deck speakers. Checked all my settings and it ended up being that the amp fried and fucked up the RCAs. I checked the voltage at the RCAs and it wasnt puttin out shit, so no its not the deck. =P Ill check out united/american radio, thanks guys.
tonedeaf Posted March 15, 2012 Author Report Posted March 15, 2012 Called United Radio and they told me it'd be an $85 base charge, but theyll charge me more if it costs them more to fix it. Is there a better chance them fixing it over Alpine, or is it a throwup? Just wanting to make sure im no wasting my time sending it off just to not get it fixed.
Smoove Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Call alpine, they have fixed 2 cd/dvd players for me that quit working after some punkass tried to pry them out of the cars in my driveway.
