C-Fizzy Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Some cars don't charge at 14.4. I start up cold at 14.7 but warmed up I charge at 13.6. With a 270 amp alt and 3 batts. SlamminBeats Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) xp3000 there's a group buy right now that im sure youre aware of. but yea it wont guarantee you charge at 14.4 Edited March 6, 2012 by SlamminBeats Quote
LoudBimmer Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 My voltage stay's @ 14.0 all the time, in cold and warm/hot weather. Voltage is controlled by your cars computer. Quote
mwjustic Posted March 6, 2012 Author Report Posted March 6, 2012 yeah i know. i just ordered my 2 ssa icons which match up perfectly for 2500 rms at 1 ohm. so i guess what i'm getting from you guys is that not all vehicles actually put out 14.4v? so should i just get a second bat and call it a day then? Tebo Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 you should still get a high output alt and second battery, you want to be able to keep your voltage up at all times because 2500W pulls a decent amount of current. mwjustic Posted March 6, 2012 Author Report Posted March 6, 2012 for that amount of power would the xs power d3400 be big enough you think? and i have a yellow top but not currently in. i just have for the most part a stock battery under the hood. should i be able to keep that there for awhile or replace both with the same brand?
