teamace24
I was researching a bit and i read that efficiency on these 4 channel full range class d is great and that compared to class ab amps dont lose much power due to heat. Can anybody recommend a good budget 4 channel class d in the 100-200 range? Has anybody messed around with this one? http://www.ebay.com/...19d1562&vxp=mtr Edited March 6, 2012 by teamace24 Quote 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
htanton93
The Power Acoustic BAMF series are very low in price, I have owned 2 in my years of car audio and there really not that bad considering the price. But in most situations, you get what you pay for, but I would only recommend them to people who are tight on money looking for an amp. SmallTruk
I heard from a few friends in the field that at half power and up the efficiency of the class D amps is minimal over their AB competition. It's basically a smaller footprint that's the biggest perk, SQ usually suffers though.
teamace24
What about the heat? All of the class ab amps get pretty hot normally, and my class d bass amps dont. So i was thinking it might be good to experiment with one. OrionStang
The 175.4 gets hot. But thats what keeps the inside cool. Mount it with small spacers so air can get under it. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

Skullz
Have yet to hear anything bad on the new PPI 900.4 amp and it seems that there are quite a few running them bridged with multiple speaker sets. teamace24
No i know the heatsink is there for the heat an all of that. But i was more asking about power loss in the class ab compared to the newer class d like that ppi. Also in my setup the amp does not get the best of ventilation and i rather keep the amp in that spot for storage reasons so thats another reason i ask about the class d.
