SnowDrifter
Just installed the Beta. This thing is going to be such a trainwreck when it goes to market.... I'm interested in everyone else's thoughts about it. Lets hear it! P.S. I'm on it right now and pressing enter doesn't do anything. So Just bear with the lack of readability in this post.) Hifonics
I played with it about 6 months ago. They'll have to trash it and start over with the GUI. It's bad atm IMO. Jaloosk
It's really fast (and usable) if you disable the new GUI. Quote "Cheap, good or fast. You can only pick two out of three." "Have money? Love story! No money? I'm sorry."
inm
I guess I'll be the first to go against the tides... I kinda like. Granted, I won't be using it as my main OS until it's stable. I threw it on a spare hard drive to dual boot for now. It's not bad, just takes a minute or two to get used to. Lbox88
My work computer is still running XP since a lot the programs I need are not compatible with Vista or 7 Quote UBL | Build Log
Maxim
I actually haven't played around with it yet. I've heard tons of people complain but then I talk to my nerdy friends and they're all about it so IDK. LOTS of people thing the new tiled interface is the way their desktops will be and they're seriously misinformed. The tiled look is for touchscreens and tablet devices. There's an option to go back to the familiar Windows 7 interface for using it in a desktop environment. Quote wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . Jaloosk
My work computer is still running XP since a lot the programs I need are not compatible with Vista or 7 You need a new IT department. We have a ton of legacy applications like that, and they ALL work with Win7, you just have to know what you're doing in order to configure the OS properly. Quote "Cheap, good or fast. We have a ton of legacy applications like that, and they ALL work with Win7, you just have to know what you're doing in order to configure the OS properly. ITs also a cost issue. I still run xp at work and I can assure its not a lack of technical resources knowing what they are doing. It would cost a shit ton of money to upgrade the hundreds of thousands of employees to win7. not all legacy apps are created equal as well. my environment still has winnt boxes and w2k out there.
